5th Grade Assessments
ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills)
Third and fifth graders take the ITBS in the fall. This test compares our students with others across the country. A National Percentile Rank of fifty is considered average.
Georgia Writing Assessment
Fifth graders take the state writing assessment in the spring. We will work on the writing genres of narrative, persuasive, and informational throughout the school year. During the assessment, students are assigned a topic from a topic bank in one of those genres and allowed 120 minutes to write.
CRCT (Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests)
Third-fifth grades take the CRCT in the spring. Third graders must pass reading in order to advance to fourth grade. Fifth graders need to pass reading and math to move on to middle school. Students must score at a Level 2 to pass.
